Thoughts on Blogs

I hate blogs. I don’t read them.

This is my own opinion, and you may feel differently than I do. When I think about blogs, my first association is when I go out in search of a recipe. Who actually reads all about Karen’s super mom moment where last minute she was able to throw together a delicious gluten-free cake for her son’s birthday party so that his best friends younger sister would be able to indulge in this classic festive celebratory dish with the rest of the kids. Not I. Even a recap is boring. I just wanna know how to make the cake. Or better yet, just eat it.

So what’s the point of all this. Of any of this? Well, that’s a deep question that I could begin to unpack in many different ways, but for now, I’m talking about blogs and cakes.

This is a personal endeavor. I don’t know where this may progress or regress. I simply liked the idea of having a blog. The anxious side of me comes out and tells me to not do it. That I will say the wrong thing and expose myself as a fraud. Posting something online, especially when it’s a journalistic or diary format, forces us to put in a lot of personal stock behind our words. So please remember that there is a human behind these words. I have opinions based on my own experiences. I do my best to be as open-minded and accepting as possible, and hopefully, you will come to realize this.

If I mess up grammatically, please blame Grammarly for not catching my mistakes. If I offend you, please write me an emotionally driven email. Sometimes putting thoughts down into words helps us sort our thoughts and it may even make you feel better. I will also maybe respond and hopefully, we can resolve any conflict. And also hopefully, it’ll help me grow as a person. Or you just email me to share your own experiences, perspectives, or thoughts. I love getting emails!

So yay for words, for art, and for cake.

and also, maybe sign up for my newsletter…kinda excited for it.
